Redistribution of economic opportunities

The means of production necessary to build the serial promotions of modern urbanism are only available to large promoters and builders who concentrate a lot of wealth in few hands. The #ATRI strategy is based on an execution procedure that redistributes wealth and opportunities among the small hands that make up the productive fabric. Once the wood or metal structures are placed on site, #ATRI proposes a second and a third building phase, which consists of completely coating them, both inside and outside, through socially responsible and DIY/DIWO operations.

This system of dry construction, based on simple operations and the main use of local wood and metal elements, will allow to put into play the capacities of local professional agents and future users. On the one hand, it will have the skills of carpenters, locksmiths, glassmakers, plumbers and other small industrialists that the crisis has cornered. In addition, it will value the capabilities of a part of the population that, despite not having the economic resources, can contribute to the construction with its own time and hands. Despite not being monetary, the remuneration of these non-professional agents can be both valued as a professional formation that allows them to acquire new skills and/or as an alternative way for paying the rent.

The participation of these future users in the building process have multiple advantages. On the one hand, it will lower the costs of construction and will make it possible to promote more houses. On the other hand, it will enable them to participate in decision-making about the distribution of their own homes and the common spaces. Finally, it will encourage collaboration between future neighbors and, therefore, create social fabric long before the work is finished.
